Bette Jean Goree

Graveside services for Bette Jean Goree, age 90, of Houston, were held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Midway Cemetery in Midway, Texas.

Bette Jean Goree was born February 14, 1928 in Canada to Leonard & Martha Gordon. She grew up in Midway, Texas and worked as a manager at Walgreens in Houston for forty years. Bette enjoyed coking and baking. Her favorite food to bake was bread and she made a lot of it! Bette had lived in Houston most of her life and was Catholic in faith.

Bette passed away at her home January 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Herman Campbell “Jack” Goree and daughter, Gale Robin (Goree) Glover.

Surviving family members include grandson, Anthony Lee Duke, Jr.; brother, Herbert Gordon and special friends, Sam Johnson, Kathy Williams and Laura Garza.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas was entrusted with final arrangements.
