Annie Vivian (Madole) Farris was born on January 7, 1912, to Amos Daniel Madole and Bertha Lee (Strawther) Madole. Vivian passed away on June 30, 2019, at the age of 107. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers: Lee Madole, Melvin Madole, Wade Madole, and five sisters: Ivy Mae Madole Payne, Grace Madole Standley, Janie Madole Standley, Ruby Madole White, and Margie Madole Prescott. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Jeff A. Farris, Sr., and an infant son, Russell Daniel Farris.
She lived the first 70 years of her life in the Cottonwood Community in Madison County, Texas, where she was born. She moved to Bryan, Texas, in later years to be near her daughter.
Vivian is survived by a son, Jeff A. Farris, Jr. and wife Kathryn Sue (Ball) Farris, and a daughter, Angela (Farris) Fannin and husband Jerry W. Fannin. She is survived by four grandchildren: Blair Fannin and wife Brandi Fannin, William Jeff Farris and wife Christine (Collier) Farris, Dawn (Farris) Shockey and husband Greg Shockey, Darla (Farris) Corona and husband Manny Corona. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Josh Farris, Amanda Farris, Blakeley Thomas, Alexis Corona, Tony Corona, and Bailey Fannin.
Since 2003 Vivian lived at Crestview Retirement Community in Bryan, Texas, where she made many friends.
Vivian was a member of the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Her main interest in life was her family. She delighted in the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Vivian was also an accomplished seamstress. Throughout her life she made countless quilts and many articles of clothing including her daughter’s wedding dress.
Funeral services for Vivian will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Interment will follow in Oxford Cemetery, west of Madisonville. A brief visitation will take place before the service Wednesday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
