Aubrie Earnest Mccollum, Jr.

Aubrie Earnest McCollum, Jr., faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, November 9, 2017 at the age of 84.

Earnest was born March 4, 1933 in Forth Worth, Texas. He came to know his Lord and Savior at the age of seven at Fellowship Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas, and surrendered his life to serve the Lord at the age of sixteen. He gave his life to missions and preaching in 1953 and began serving the Lord in Spanish missions in 1961. He married his sweetheart, Anita Louise Craig, in February of 1960. They had four children, Joy McCollum, Daniel McCollum, Rhonda Smith and John Douglas McCollum. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrie and Eva McCollum; sisters, Eva Gene McCollum and Dorothy Whearley; daughter, Joy McCollum and grandson, Mark McCollum.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; sisters, Lynell Wooderson and Margaret Woycheshin; children, Daniel (Connie) McCollum, Rhonda (Craig) Smith; John Douglas “J.D.” (Edna) McCollum; grandkids, Leisa Pope, Heidi (Kris) Clopton, Bryleigh McCollum, Justin (Mandy) Smith, Heather Smith, Ashley (Brian) Arnold, Andrew McCollum, Nathan McCollum; great grandkids, Matthew Pope, Jaden Pope, Parker Pope, Eli Pope, Taycie Clopton, Kyelie Clopton, Paige Clopton, Chloe Smith and Tyler Smith, with three little ones on the way.

Throughout his life he served the Lord as pastor, missionary, evangelist and teacher in many parts of the world. His passion was to tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ and how to have a personal relationship with Him. He loved the Lord, God’s Word, time with his Savior in prayer, missions, and his family. We are grateful to the Lord for Earnest’s life and testimony. To God be the glory!

Funeral services for Earnest will take place at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. J.D. McCollum will officiate the service. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Madisonville Cemetery.
