Bethany Lynnette Gonzales-Baker

Bethany Lynette Wieske, the only daughter of James Erwin Wieske and Jane Ann Moreno Wieske (now, Young) was born in Houston, Texas, November 21, 1975. She died in Shiner, Texas, January 24, 2018. As a child she lived in Houston, Texas, Bedias, Texas, Iola, Texas and Midway, Texas. She attended school in Madisonville, graduating in 1993. She attended Texas A & M University, for a while, finally obtaining a Bachelor of Scoence in Criminal Forensics from Colorado State University. She was unhappy when circumstance required her to stop short of obtaining her nursing degree. However, this training provided knowledge that she used the rest of her life.

In the spring of 1989, she joined into another family which suddenly endowed her with five brothers and two sisters. She came to dearly love each of them.

She lived in Texas, South Carolina, Nevada and Virginia where her husband served in the United States Air Force. During this time, she gave birth to three girls, Karissa Belle, Kaylee Alyssa and Phoebe Karren. She received great pleasure and took great pride in her daughters. She spent hours training and developing each of their capabilities and education and promoted and supported them in activities in and out of their school programs. She would often be seen counseling, comforting and embracing each individually with the warmth of her love.

While accompanying her husband at various Air Force bases, she involved herself in the Enlisted Wives Club, where she regularly served as an officer. In many cases she was instrumental in establishing a club on units where none existed. She was very successful dealing with, and encouraging, the other serviceman's wives.

Bethany, highly intelligent, creatively gifted and noted for her organizational ability, was a blessing to those around her. Her love for people, young and old, was manifest by her spirited, loving interest in them, their activities, achievements and their personal welfare. She spent hours providing aid to those around her.

She will be remembered for these traits, but will especially be remembered and honored for her love of her daughters.

In 2014, her marriage to Pete Gonzales ended. On February 25, 2017, she married Daniel Q. Baker. Combining her three beautiful daughters with Daniel's two handsome sons and one beautiful daughter, created a family of six lovely children.

Bethany is survived by her parents, Mark & Jane Young of Midway, Texas; husband, Daniel Q. Baker of Shiner, Texas; sons, Braydon Scott Baker of Shiner, Texas & Clayton Bradley Baker of Shiner, Texas; daughters, Karissa Belle Gonzales of Temple, Texas, Kaylee Alyssa Gonzales of Shiner, Texas, Phoebe Karren Gonzales of Shiner, Texas and Gracie Lynn Baker of Shiner, Texas; brothers, Mark Douglas Young of Helotes, Texas, Clinton Lee Young of Belton, Texas, Lon Kendall Young of Bryan, Texas, Joshua Alan Young of Bryan, Texas and Curtis Wayne Young of Richmond, Texas and sisters, Joleen Young Odell of Bryan, Texas, Lisa Ann Griffith of Morgan, Utah, Kristi Dalton of Dallas, Texas and Lori Ann Wieske of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services for Bethany were held at 11 A.M., Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas. President Gary Grubbs officiated, and interment followed in the Jozye Cemetery south of Madisonville.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.
