Funeral services for Bill Wilson of Midway, Texas are set for January 5, 2020.

Billy Charles “Bill” Wilson was born April 5, 1936, in Jewett, Texas and passed away on January 3, 2020. Visitation will be at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. A graveside will be held at Sardis Cemetery, Leon County, near Jewett, Texas at 3:00 PM.

Bill graduated from Teague High School in 1964. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force. Bill worked for The Reliable Insurance Company of St. Louis, Missouri for thirty-one years. He retired in September, 1988. He also served for four years with Huntsville Crime Stoppers.

He was an avid outdoors person, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching any kind of sports. Most of all he enjoyed watching and feeding his birds in his backyard. Bill was excited that his son and grandson had followed in his steps as outdoor sportsmen—they, too, enjoy hunting and fishing.

Bill was a member of Elwood Baptist Church in Midway, Texas.

Preceding him in death was his very loving mother, Lillie Lee Wilson of Teague, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Wilson and his brother, Joe Max Wilson Sr. and his wife, Louise of Teague, Texas. Also, his children, Charles Wilson and wife, Debbie of Liberty Hill, Texas, April and Allen Hartley of Midway, Texas, Daniel and Debbie Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, and Deakon Williams of Huntsville, Texas. Grandchildren are Maxx Wilson of New Braunfels, Austin and Megan Williams of Huntsville, McCaa and Mason Williams of Atlanta, A’rhyan and Brycson Sanford of Midway, and Courtney White and Brandon Bell of Alvarado. Great Grandchildren are Levi Bell and Everly White.
