Caleb Williams, Jr., affectionately known as Cal, PAPAW, Hank, Eddie, Josh, Daddy, Rabbit, and Papa, was born on July 27, 1933, and peacefully passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 91. He was the youngest child of Caleb R. Williams and Bessie Holbrook Williams.
After graduating from Lucasville High School, Caleb enlisted in the Navy, serving in California and Hawaii. It was in Hawaii that he met and married the love of his life, Katherine Paiva. Their journey led them to Kentucky, Ohio, and ultimately to Texas in 1975, where they settled.
Caleb was a man of deep faith, a true child of the King. He found joy in serving others and excelled in supervisory roles. His diverse career path included electrician, roofer, truck driver, and a laborer at the steel mill, culminating in his preferred role as a supervisor. You might be surprised to learn that he was also a biker dude in his younger years!
Caleb was a beloved friend, brother, son, uncle, father, husband, and grandfather. But perhaps his most cherished title was "Papaw." He was a proud Papaw, always ready for a good meal, a round of golf, and a little bit of mischief. He had a strong personality, and while he may not have always listened to the women in his life, he certainly knew how to make his presence known.
Caleb was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters, his wife Katherine, and his children David W. Williams and Glynise D. Martin.
He is survived by his daughter Leilani, his son Tony Williams, and his granddaughter Kathy Piazza-Saunders, M.Ed (husband Ben), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Enhabit Hospice, the Agency on Aging, Visiting Angels, friends, Ray, Debbie, Jerry, and Mike, and all those who provided support and care during this difficult time.
A graveside service to honor Caleb's life will be held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, with funeral honors rendered by the U.S. Navy at Restever Memorial Park Cemetery, Bryan, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
