Carlena Hammonds

Carlena Hammonds of Madisonville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 30th, 2023. Carlena was born in Abilene, Texas December 9th, 1950, to Carl Edward Geer and Marion Pope Geer.

Carlena was affectionately known as Granny by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless others. Living in Madisonville for the last nine years brought her immense joy. Nothing tickled her more than providing forbidden snacks for her grands and great-grands. She loved the outdoors, reeling in a big catfish, eating fried catfish, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Shannon; her son-in-law Clay; grandchildren, Kolby Wells and wife Kayla, Breigh Wells, Hunter Wells, and Ivy Wells; great-grandchildren, Ryland Park, Kinlee Wells, Kam Wells, and Kruz Wells, and truly treasured by her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Clay Wells, Kolby Wells, Hunter Wells, Ryland Park, Kam Wells, Kruz Wells…the most important big and little men in her life.

A celebration of Carlena's life will be held 2:30 P.M., Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.  Bro. Wade Phillips will officiate the service.  A time of visitation and fellowship will be held prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
