Cecil Leonard Reynolds

Cecil Leonard Reynolds, Professor Emeritus, passed away on September 3, 2017 in Willis, Texas at the age of 87 years.

He was born on October 2, 1929 in Edna, Texas to Alice (Coleman) Reynolds and William Harvey Reynolds. Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy McCracken and Mary Lou Powell and brothers, James Harvey Reynolds, Woodrow Reynolds and Jr Reynolds. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Cynthia Kaye Reynolds; brother, Clyde Reynolds of El Campo; children, Johnny Sue Reynolds and Milton Wayne Reynolds and step-children, Jim Fuller and Lisa Beaton (Craig). Cecil is also survived by granddaughter, Holley Reynolds Lange; grandsons, Jeremy Lee Murphy (Chelsea) and Milton William Reynolds; step-grandchildren, Rhiannon Ryan, Trevor Payne and Megan Olson and seven great grandchildren.

Cecil attended schools in Edna, Texas where he played football. He graduated high school in 1949 and served in the Korean War as a Russian Interrogator. Cecil attended the language school in Monterey, California and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany during the war.

After the war, he attended the University of Houston where he received his undergraduate and Masters degrees in Business Administration. He taught school in Castroville, Texas and was the Dean of Technical Education at McClennan Community College. Cecil then began teaching at San Antonio Junior College where he remained until his retirement in 1993 as Professor Emeritus.

Cecil was active in several organizations. He was Business Teacher of the Year and served as President of the King William Association. While teaching at San Antonio College, he served on numerous committees and was the Evening Faculty Coordinator for the Business Technology Department and the Chairman of the Business Technology Department.

Cecil was an avid fisher, loved to hunt, and enjoyed gardening from which he loved to share his vegetables with friends, family and neighbors.

Funeral services for Cecil will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Interment will follow in the Allphin Cemetery. A brief visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon at the funeral home before the service.
