Dorothy Ann "Dot" Wells

Dorothy Ann "Dot" (Hines) Wells, age 63, of Normangee, Texas passed away in her sleep Friday, July 24, 2020. She was born on December 4, 1956 to Roger C. and Doris Goodrum Hines in Bryan, Texas. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1975. She married Bruce Wells of Madisonville in 1980 and they welcomed their only child Kendra in 1984. She worked at Lilly and Criswell’s Distributing Company both in Bryan. She then worked 17 years for Texas A&M - TEEX until she retired in 2007. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially her granddaughters who she loved more than anything. She loved her church family, taking cruises, penny slot machines, playing 42 and Bunco, collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes. She loved to dance to good country music. With a heart the size of Texas, she never met a stranger. She had a contagious smile and laugh.

Dorothy leaves behind her mother Doris Goodrum Hines of Normangee; daughter Kendra Gilbert and husband Jess; granddaughters Reagan and Rylee Gilbert of North Zulch; her two sisters Pam Phillips and husband Jimmy of Normangee; and Donna Sikorski of Normangee; and her best friend LeeAnn Wells; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She had numerous lifelong friends that she could always count on and all held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her father Roger C. Hines; her paternal grandparents Sam and Loella Bledsoe Hines; maternal grandparents Selven and Josey Nichols Goodrum and nephew Brandon Sikorski.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Ten-Mile Cemetery adjacent to the church. The Wells family will receive friends Monday, July 27th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Cannon Coleman, Tye Coleman, Nick McAliley, Nathan Sikorski, Clay Andrews, Chuck Heath, Tim Sikorski and Mark Tinsley.

In lieu of flowers, there has been an account set-up for the Dorothy "Dot" Wells Memorial Scholarship at Normangee State Bank.
