Dorothy Ruth (Glass) Baylor

Funeral services for Dorothy Baylor, age 91, of Madisonville, will be held 2 P.M., Friday, December 21, 2018 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Rev. Jim Jackson, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, will officiate the service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Allphin Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday before the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.

Dorothy Ruth (Glass) Baylor was born January 1, 1927 in Georgetown, Texas. She was raised in Georgetown and later lived in Houston where she and her husband raised their son. For a period of time, Dorothy worked in the oilfield business, however, she devoted the majority of her time to her family as a homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, gardening of flowers and vegetables and telephone conversations with friends. In her younger years, Dorothy took great joy in caring for her dogs. She had lived in Madisonville since 1992 and was Baptist in faith.

Dorothy passed away December 18, 2018 in Madisonville following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; beloved husband, Thomas Willard “T.W.” Baylor; grandson, Reese Baylor and two brothers.

Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Curtistene Baylor of Madisonville; granddaughters, Lori Gibbs (Brent) of Madisonville and Becky Siemens (Jonathon) of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, Canada and three great grandchildren.
