Dustin Brock Allen, "Chili," 48 years old, of Madisonville, Texas, passed from his earthly home to the welcoming presence of his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2024. His celebration of life will be held at the Cattleman’s Pavilion in Madisonville, Texas on Thursday, September 19, at 11 A.M. Those attending are encouraged to wear casual black and orange, Dustin’s statement colors.
Clint Carroll and Joel Douget will conduct the service. Visitation and lunch will follow the service.
Dustin was born to Archie Hoyle Allen and Jean Barbara Allen of Ringling, Oklahoma, at Ardmore Hospital on October 1, 1975. He attended high school in Ringling where he played football and baseball, winning a state championship in football before graduating with the Class of 1994. Dust went on to Oklahoma State University, and became a member of the OSU Rodeo Team. He graduated with an Animal Science degree in 1999 and was ever true to the Orange and Black, despite spending decades in the heart of Aggie Country. He became a loyal Houston Astros fan, but “Go Pokes” was his cry in any and every sporting event related to OSU.
Chili married Quincy Cahill, the love of his life, on June 26, 2004. Soon, their operation became a thriving part of the horse industry of Madison County. In time, three daughters joined Chili and Quincy in those activities. One of his greatest joys was watching Addie, Channing, and Jayde grow their horsemanship skills and compete in AQHA shows. In addition, he gladly nurtured their love of softball, cheering and coaching at every opportunity.
Chili was a cowboy and a roper. Those words cannot be omitted. He was a tough competitor, a trainer, a coach, and a mentor. He freely shared his knowledge and experience with anyone who sought it. Those who benefited from his company will be quoting lessons he taught them into the distant future.
Chili was preceded in death by grandparents, Archie A. Allen and George Ann Allen.
Immediate family surviving Dustin include his wife, Quincy and his girls, Addie, Channing, and Jayde; parents, Pug and Jeanie Allen; brother, Shane and wife, Amy, and their children, Maddie and Steele Allen; aunt, Vicki Allen and uncle, Steve Vaughn; and close cousin, Amber Cameron and her children, Keeton Dodd and Jett Cameron. Extended but close family also hold key places in the inner circle, including Bubba, Nancy, Cannon, Macee, Case, and LouCasee Cahill.
In recent months, Chili put up a long and grueling fight, but today we can picture him smiling and loping Flo across an arena with Woody close by their side.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to AQHA Pro Horsemen Crisis Fund, mailing address AQHF, P.O. Box 32111, Amarillo, TX 79120.
Final arrangements are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
