Edward Leonard Lagravier, age 81, of Normangee, Texas passed away April 13, 2022 at his home in Normangee (Mecca) Texas. He was born June 3rd, 1940 in Normangee, Texas to Jack and (Jackie) Virginia Aleen Kelly Lagravier.
Ed graduated from Normangee High School in 1958. After starting college at Texas A&M, he graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1962. He was a draftsman at Alenco in Bryan Texas, then worked for the Texas Department of Public Transportation until 1980, when he bought the Lagravier Auto Supply from his parents. He worked there until he retired at age 62 in 2002.
Ed was baptized at the age of 19 at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. He could quote scripture and knew biblical history well. He was faithful to his beliefs. He went to church with his family regularly and supported his wife in working with the youth, even driving the church bus for a season.
Ed loved to quail hunt and work on the land and with his cows. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time with the ones he held dear. He loved a fire and a drink on the back porch. He kept his circle tight and was selective on who he allowed in, but if you made the cut, he loved and protected at all cost.
Ed was preceded in death by his son Jim Bob Lagravier, daughter Heidi Megan Lagravier, brother Jimmy Lagravier, and parents Jack and Jackie Lagravier. He is survived by the love of his life, his friend and partner, his wife of 62 years Edna Lagravier, his daughter Holly (Kerry) Stroud of Normangee, grandson Ethan Stroud of Madisonville, granddaughter Jessica (Tim) Dainty of Normangee, great granddaughter Bennett Grace Dainty, great grandson Rhett Douglas Dainty, brother in law Tommy (Donna) Tucker, brother in law Paul (Claudia Jordy) Tucker, sister in law Virginia (Billy) Stockton, and many nieces and nephews.

A brief visitation will take place from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the fellowship hall of Union Baptist Church, adjacent to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
