Floy Joyce Wright

Funeral services for Floy Wright, age 86, of Madisonville and formerly of Baytown, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Kent Brown, grandson-in-law to Mrs. Wright, will officiate the service. Burial will be in Earthman Memory Garden in Baytown, Texas. The Wright family will receive friends Friday, June 14th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Floy Joyce Wright was born September 19, 1932 in Baytown, Texas. Her parents were George Arther & Maggie Grace (Godwin) Williams. She worked as a grocery store manager and had lived in Baytown most of her life. Floy had also resided in Clifton for fifteen years and had lived the last six years of her life in Madisonville. She loved cooking and entertaining, always making sure that everyone was well fed.

Floy especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was able to meet her youngest great-grandson the very day she passed away when he was three months old and had been able to see her oldest great-grandson graduate from high school in Madisonville.

Floy passed away June 8, 2019 in Madisonville, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Ernest Carroll Wright; sister, Irma Lee Williams and a granddaughter. She is survived by sons, Arthur Wright of Madisonville and Douglas Wright (Shirley) of Baytown; daughter, Laurisa Carrol (Leamon) of Madisonville and sister, Bessie Lee Tavary of Lake Jackson. Floy is also survived by grandchildren, Jason Wright, Corey Carroll (fiancé, Nikki Tracker), Clinton Carroll (Krystal), Caidi Brown (Kent), Wrenn Wright (Kandace), Kristi Joseph (Drew) and Sara Melcher (Jimmy) and great-grandchildren, Cameron Carroll, Atly Wright, Alayna Wright, Jaxson Carroll, Brylee Brown, Lucas Melcher, Kennedy Carroll, Braxston Brown, Bryson Brown, Natalie Melcher, Bretton Brown and Hudson Wright.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
