Glenn Steele Connor, age 96, passed away in Madisonville, Texas, on January 22, 2020. Steele was born on March 29, 1923, in Franklin, Texas, Robertson County, to William and Lillie Connor. Steele married Louise Morris, on March 14, 1942 and they were married for 75 years.
Steele was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who raised his family in Bryan. He was the last charter member of Northview Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of Deacons for many years. He was the owner and operator of Connor Shell Station located at 26th and Texas Avenue in Bryan until he retired in 1978. He then began a second career with Cal-Gas and Amerigas propane companies. After retiring from his second career, he assisted his son, Glenn, with his business, Connor Hay Service, and worked well into his eighties, and retired when his health declined.
Steele was preceded in death by his parents and wife; brothers, Grover Connor, Paul Connor, Elmer Connor, and Wilmer Connor; sisters, Lois Buckley, Nelline Force, and Marqueritte Laxon; and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Connor.
He is survived by three children and their spouses, Glenn and Marilyn Connor, Martha and Alton (Nap) Cole, and Wayne and Deborah Connor; five grandchildren, Amy (Keith) Hahn, Karla (Ricky) Medeiros, William (Christa) Connor, Todd Cole, Travis (Jamie) Connor; great-grandchildren, Brandon (Chelsea) Hahn, Nicholas Hahn, Ashlyn Hahn, Allyson Wessale, Megan Medeiros, Cameron Medeiros, Logan Medeiros, Laura Beth Connor, Atraalon Connor, Brennen Connor, Jadyn Whitmire, Braeleigh Whitmire; great, great-grandchildren, Clementine Wessale and June Kuykendall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Steele will be held 2 P.M., Monday, January 27, 2020, at Northview Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery near Normangee, Texas.
Serving as pall bearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
