Glenrose Randolph Wadsworth was born August 6, 1932 in Madisonville, Texas to Glenn Wycough Randolph & Ruby Mae Shannon. She worked as an executive secretary and lived most of her life in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Wadsworth passed away November 25, 2019 in Houston following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Albert Hodges Wadsworth and son, Gregory Kent Howton.

Surviving family members include son, Marc Randolph Howton; daughter, Randa Karen McDonough; granddaughters, Sarah Ellen Hudson and Mandy Rose Doggett and great-grandchildren, Noah Alexander Doggett and Rebekah Dean Doggett.

The family of Mrs. Wadsworth would like to acknowledge a few people who were instrumental in Mrs. Wadsworth’s wellbeing the last years of her life. “Mom lived many years after suffering a stroke, and she needed help, both physically and for vocalization. Since we lived in Dallas, and mom refused to move, these people were her local lifelines:”

Sophie - her long-term maid who turned into friend, who turned into caregiver. Sophie essentially moved in with mom for the last year or more, spending most nights sleeping at mom’s house to make sure she was ok. Without Sophie, we would have had to drag mom, kicking and screaming “No,No,No,No,No”(one of her favorite phrases) all the way, into an assisted living home. Mom was bound and determined to live out her life in her house, and Sophie made that possible. She drove mom to all her outside ventures, weekly hair stylist, grocery runs, you name it, Sophie was there.

Alison - neighbor, friend, and health advocate. Since moving in next door, Alison quickly became a friend to mom, and as a retired nurse, was a valuable source of information. She soon turned into moms Formal Health Advocate and was invaluable making sure mom was taken good care of in her many hospital trips she endured. Also interfacing with mom’s doctors to make sure that all interactions were instrumental, not detrimental, to mom’s health.

Brooke - mom’s second caregiver. She was with mom a few days a week during the day to give Sophie time away. Brooke is a joyful person to be around, and she did her best to keep mom happy and healthy. Mom was usually “disagreeable” with most caregivers, so the fact that Brooke stuck around is a testament to her good outlook. Brooke is not a caregiver by trade, just a neighborhood girl who took on the task with mom, making it an even bigger showing of her character.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
