Gordon Roscoe Coneley, 72, of Madisonville, Texas passed away on September 7, 2022 at his home. He was born to Carroll Clayton Coneley and Mayme (Griffin) Coneley on October 11, 1949 in Navasota, Texas. He grew up in Grimes County and spent the last twenty-three years in Madison County. Gordon was a rancher, and he was often described as a man's man. He had a giving heart and would do anything to make his family happy. He enjoyed hunting and competitive shooting and accompanying camaraderie.
Gordon was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Coneley of Madisonville, Texas; son, James Brandon Coneley of Uvalde, Texas; daughter, Ann Dean Grinnell (Josh) of Royce City, Texas; grandchildren, Lilly Homeyer, Seth Homeyer and Jaxon Grinnell; brother, Carroll Wayne Coneley (Sue) of Houston, Texas; sister, Cheri Hervey (Dick) of Corinth, Texas; step-daughters, Stacey Forgason (Lex) and Aimee Pavelock (Dwayne); nieces, Melissa Voigtman (Walter) and Magan Henson (Robert); nephews, Clayton Coneley (Stacy) and Preston Hervey (Nickie); sisters-in-law, Jennifer Yates and Ellen Isbell (Verne); and mother-in-law, Lou Yates.
Funeral services for Gordon will be held 3 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Martin's Prairie Missionary Baptist Church in Keith, Texas. Bro. Glenn Connor will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Martins Prairie Cemetery. A public visitation will take place the evening of Saturday, September 10th, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
