Gwendolyn Floynea Sandles

Gwendolyn Floynea Sandles was born August 24, 1963, in Madisonville, Texas to the union of the late Floyd L. Sandles and Clara Sandles.  Her formative years were spent in the Madisonville Community, where she gave her life to Christ at a very early age. She was a faithful and active member of Lakeview Baptist Church until she moved to Richmond, Texas.

Gwendolyn attended her early years of school in Madisonville ISD.  Upon graduating, she attended Prairie View A&M and Sam Houston State University in which she earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree, and additionally receiving her Principal's Certification.

Gwendolyn passed away April 9, 2024 at her home in Richmond.  She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Floyd L. Sandles and Clara Sandles.  She leaves to cherish her memories aunts, Aneath Pope (Glidden) and Priscilla Yell (Waller); uncle, John {Lena} Spivey (Sugarland); cousins, Eddie Mason (Madisonville), Jackie Wilkins (Van Alstyne), Ricky Wilkins (Hutto), Jonathan {LaQuesha} Spivey (Houston), Stephanie {Ernest} Alexander (Waller), Jeremy {Kateika} Spivey (Houston), Talya Pope (Florida), Alton {Danielle} Pope (Leander) and Christopher {Ashley} Yell (Waller); and a host of extended family and friends.

Homegoing services for Gwendolyn will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas.

Pallbearers:  Brad Pope, Jeremy Spivey, Eddie Mason, Jr., Christopher Yell, Ricky Wilkins, Ernest Alexander, Jonathan Spivey
