H. Lytle Noey

H. Lytle Noey, a dedicated rancher and beloved resident of the Hilltop Lakes Community, left this world peacefully on May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Hilltop Lakes. He was a true Texan through and through, having spent his life working the land as a rancher at Camp Cooley, Grenada, and Jenkins Ranches.

Lytle was born June 24, 1938 in Marquez, Texas to James William "Jim" and Bobbie Irene (Stokley) Noey.  A lifelong resident of Leon County, Lytle was a familiar face in the community, known for his hard work, generosity, and warm smile. He married his wife, Patricia Noey, on February 19, 1994 and they shared many loving years together.

Lytle's devotion to his family was unwavering, and he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, sharing in their laughter and creating lasting memories. In his leisure time, he could often be found cheering on his favorite football teams or getting caught up in the excitement of horse races. Lytle had a passion for the ranching life and enjoyed attending cattle auctions, where he could mingle with fellow ranchers and share stories of the trade.

In addition to his love for his family and his work, Lytle was a devoted member of Union Baptist Church, where he found solace and community. His faith was a guiding light in his life, shaping his values and providing him with strength during difficult times.

Lytle was preceded in death by both of his parents; sisters, Leatha Arnette, Johnnie Mae (Fred) and Wanda (Melvin); brother, Raymond (Artie Lee); and sister-in-law, Bell Dwine.

Surviving family members include wife, Patricia Noey of Hilltop Lakes; step-sons, Sheldon Lee Hutchins of Jacksonville, FL and Kirk Lee Hutchins of Pensacola, FL; brother, Billie Noey of North Zulch; sister, Mavis Gustavus (Jerry) of Normangee; grandchildren, Nikki Burnett of Pueblo, CO, Jerica Glass (Josh) of Iola, Hope Hutchins of Iola, Kayla Hutchins (Hartley) of College Station and Hannah Hutchins of Buffalo; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Burnett of Pueblo, CO, Everly Joy Glass of Iola, Addison Fulmer of College Station and one great-grandchild on the way.  Lytle is also survived by numerous cousins, seven nieces, twelve nephews and a host of additional extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Lytle's life will be held in honor of his memory at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas, followed by interment in Winn Cemetery.  A brief visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to gather together to pay their respects, share stories, and remember the life of a man who touched so many hearts.  Officiants will be Pastor Tuffy Loftin, Jerry Gustavus and Larry Grimes.
