Herman Batson

Herman Batson, of Madisonville, Texas was born November 16, 1933 and was taken home on March 1, 2019. Herman was preceded in his home going by his parents, Glenn & Mittie (Etheridge) Batson, great-grandchildren, Kiley and Hunter Boaen, brother, Nelson Batson, sister & brother-in-law, Mary Jane & Nathan Crouch and nephew, Wesley Batson.

He is survived by wife, Joyce Cole Batson, daughters, Sherrill McDowell & husband, Mike, D’anne Corley & husband, Jim; grandchildren, Kasie Kroll & husband, Steve, Haley Boaen & husband, David & Jonathon Tollison; great grandchildren, McKayla Chamberlain & J.T. Kroll; brother, Jim Edd Batson & wife, Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Jo Beth Batson and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Herman served in the U.S. Army. He was a retiree from Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Herman was most passionate a out his family, his land & cattle. He had several pets in his time, but his favorite was his little pas-pug, Joe-Joe, who was his constant companion.

Graveside services are set for 2 P.M., Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Madisonville Cemetery. Visitation will follow the serv ice at the Woodbine Hotel.
