Janet Louise Parten

Janet Parten, 75, passed away September 22, 2021 in Bryan, Texas following an extended illness. Her funeral service will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, September 26, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, Madisonville, Texas. Pastor of the church, Rev. Jim Jackson, will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Madisonville Cemetery. The Parten family will receive friends Saturday, September 25th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home.

Janet Louise Parten was born May 17, 1946 in Kermit, Texas to Jim Will “Buck” & Margie (Jones) Price. She lived most of her life in Madisonville and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Madisonville. Janet enjoyed taking trips with friends to Round Top, Texas and collecting antique dolls, as well as other antiquities. She always looked forward to “The Sisters” classmates reunion held every year among dear and lifelong friends.

Janet was preceded in death by both of her parents and an infant daughter, Kate. Her surviving family includes loving husband, Earl Parten of Madisonville; daughters, Amy Slagle (Richard) of Austin and Kelly Moore (Matt) of Madisonville and grandchildren, Gavin Scott, Avery Scott and Cash Moore, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
