Joe Allen Blackwell

Joe Blackwell, age 70 of Nacogdoches, passed away in the early morning hours of February 18, 2018 in a Longview, Texas Hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 3 P.M., Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Randy Fowler will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Park Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Thursday, February 22nd at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

Joe Allen Blackwell was born December 15, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Chester & Betty (Baker) Blackwell. He was raised in Houston and had also resided in Jacksonville, Texas, as well as, the state of Florida. He worked as a carpenter. Joe was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was Baptist in faith. He had lived the last twelve years of his life in Nacogdoches.

Joe was preceded in death by both of his parents. Surviving family members include sons, Allen Blackwell & wife, Debbie, of Nacogdoches and Ronald Blackwell & wife, Katie, of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Deidra McKee & husband, Lance, of Spring and brothers, Virgil Blackwell & wife, Lois, of Madisonville and Reuban Blackwell & wife, Joan, of Ft. Worth. Joe is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
