Kathleen Lenore Mefford, 96, of Madisonville, TX, passed away quietly in her sleep February 6, 2022.
Kathy loved flower gardening, watching Texas football and baseball, reading, playing bridge, and horseback riding. There was always a little dachshund at home for her to love and spoil called Willy, named in honor of her mother, Myrtle Wilhelmina. Kathy was a homemaker most of her life, taking care of her husband and 3 children, but also worked as a secretary for several companies including Cities Service in Bartlesville, OK and the Broken Arrow School System.
Born to Frank and Myrtle Holter in Mercer Co., PA in 1925, Kathy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Billy Gene Mefford, Madisonville, TX, daughter Melissa Thomas of Broken Arrow, OK, granddaughter Miranda (Jordan) Curzon and great granddaughter Nora of Ames, IA, grand daughter Megan Thomas and great grandson Cason of Verdigris, OK, Sharon (Bill) Hill of Madisonville, TX, and son Clifford (Barbara) Mefford and granddaughter Elizabeth of Tulsa, OK, as well as a host of extended family members. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Myrtle Holter, brother and sister-in-law Brenton and Evelyn Holter, sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and James Kincell, and son-in-law Randall E. Thomas.
A private memorial service will be held in Madisonville, TX on March 5, 2022.
