Graveside services for Leola Boswell, age 92, of Sugar Land, and formerly of Madison County, will be held 1 P.M., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch, Texas. Pastor Taylor Sandlin will officiate the service.
Leola Louise (Haywood) Boswell was born April 19, 1926 in Magnolia, Texas to Robert Roy & Cassie Francis (Carraway) Haywood. She operated a flower nursery in Humble, Texas for a number of years and was a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Boswell was a faithful member of Sugar Land Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was a church secretary, Sunday school teacher, pianist, organist and Woman’s Missionary Union leader. She also devoted many hours knitting hundreds of caps and making lap quilts for orphans in other countries. Mrs. Boswell had lived in Sugar Land for the past fourteen years. She passed away November 13, 2018 in Sugar Land.
Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Willis Olan Boswell; son, Danny O. Boswell; baby daughter, Judy Sue Boswell and grandson, Christopher M. Freeman. Surviving family members include daughter & son-in-law, Doris Ann & Michael E. Freeman of Sugar Land; sister, Una Mae Dennison of Houston and grandchild, Elizabeth Freeman of Sugar Land.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
