Lila Kathleen Poe

Lila Kathleen Poe, 80, made her entrance into the world on January 8, 1945, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was one of six girls born to proud parents, Woodrow Wilson and Zelma (Sadler) Price, and lived a blessed life until her glorious departure into eternity on January 25, 2025.

To describe someone like Kathy in a way that truly captures “her” is a challenge. She was a woman of great faith that was constantly put on display to those around her in the form of love, kindness, and compassion. She was divinely equipped with a servant’s heart which manifested in her home and community where she was always available to those in need. She was a caregiver of the highest order and set a wonderful example to others…one truly worth following.

She loved her church, Bedias Baptist, where she was a committed member for many years. She faithfully attended Sunday school and actively participated in church ministries. Kathy, in addition to being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend, was also a talented beautician.

Kathy took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to every opportunity to be with them. Kathy also enjoyed gardening, composting, and online shopping. She had a creative flare in both painting and baking. Many will fondly remember her as a phenomenal purveyor of baked goods, and numerous folks were blessed by her recipes.

Today, Kathy has been reunited with her husband in the Lord’s presence and there is no greater place to be. She was truly an instrument of the Lord’s righteousness as He worked through her to reach into the lives of those around her. Kathy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; and two sisters, Patricia Weimer and Brenda Kubeczka.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Trae Poe (Ann); daughter, Lisa Poe; three sisters, Sandra Willis, Sue Lawrence, and Becky Ohlau; grandchildren, Clint and Colton Manning, Caden Miller and Kyle, Zach and Abby Poe; granddaughter-in-law, Maci Manning; two great-grandchildren, Brantlee and Madalyn Manning; special family members, Caralynda Theiss and Jerry Cole (Helen); along with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A memorial service honoring Kathy’s life, officiated by pastor Nathan Hoke, will be held at the Bedias Baptist Church on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5 P.M.

Final arrangements for Kathy Poe are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
