Linda Grace Mccabe

Linda Grace McCabe, 78, of Madisonville, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2023. Linda was born in Copiague, New York on October 21, 1944, to Benjamin and Grace Russo. She started her family in Islip, New York. Her life was full of rich adventures, and she lived and traveled across the United States and abroad until she made Madisonville, Texas her final home in 1995.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Russo; her mother, Grace Russo (Baker); her brother, Benjamin Russo, Jr.; and her sisters, Laura Bond (Russo), and Christine Cuiffo (Russo).

Linda is survived by her sister, Theresa Russo Schlitz; her four children, Michael, Patricia, Scott, and Christine; daughters-in-law, Michelle and Cathy; and son-in-law, Bobby; as well as her grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Michaela, Peyton, Alisha, Hannah, and Caleb and her seven great-grandchildren, including her pride and joy, Micah.

Linda was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and nurse. She earned a degree in nursing, which led to decades of fulfillment delivering countless babies before transitioning into senior care in Madisonville.

Linda was fiercely independent, strong-willed, compassionate, loving, kind, and intuitive. She was an avid animal lover and rescued fur babies throughout her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family, friends, and the animals she cared for.

The family will have a private commitment service followed by a Celebration of Life for all to attend. Details of the Celebration of Life will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Madisonville Animal Control Division - Animal Shelter.
