William Robert Hill was born on December 11, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of William Martin & Estelle (Butler) Hill. He lived in Houston until his early teenage years and graduated from Shepherd High School in Shepherd, Texas. William proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years as a Major where he was also involved in the Viet Nam War.
William held four college degrees, two of them Master’s degrees. He was about to begin studies for his Doctorate’s degree when a sudden stroke put a halt to those studies. William loved to teach and taught advanced computer classes in Universities across the country. He held a fondness for cars, especially sports cars, and roses, which he planted wherever he lived.
William and his wife had lived in North Zulch since 2000 and was a member of the Church of Christ in North Zulch.
William passed away on November 30, 2017 in Caldwell, Texas at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Oswald Hill; sister, Emma Sue Owen and grandson, Ryan Hill. Surviving relatives include wife, Annette Keefer Hill of North Zulch; sons, Stanton Hill (Terry) of Bryan & Shaun Hill of Tennessee; daughter, Shannon Hill (Vince) of Waco and grandchildren, Jason Hill, David Hill and Kelsey Smith (Mark). William is also survived by great grandchildren, Deryck DeVargas and Lydia Smith.
Memorial services for William Hill will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
