Margaret Louise Woycheshin, nicknamed Pug, was born in Houston, Texas August 15, 1937 and went home to be with our Lord, Friday, October 30, 2020 at age 83. She is preceded in death by her parents Aubrie McCollum and Eva Radney McCollum; sisters, Dorothy Whearley and Eva Jean McCollum; brother Ernest McCollum; brother in laws, Reginald Whearley and Doug Wooderson; daughter Elizabeth Woycheshin and grandson Connor Patterson.
Margaret graduated from Madisonville High School in 1955 as Salutatorian. She was active in several activities such as a trombone player in the band, twirler, and she was Basketball Sweetheart. Later in life Margaret took twelve hours of college credits in Spanish and six hours of computer courses which brought her great joy.
Margaret married the love of her life, Michael Anthony Woycheshin, September 17, 1977. They were married for almost forty five years, they lived in Houston, TX for 20 years. In Houston, they attended Park Place Baptist Church, and Calvary Baptist Church. They were Sunday school teachers, VBS teachers, youth chaperones on every trip their children ever attended. On February 26, 1996 they retired to Madisonville, Tx to build their dream home. They joined Faith Baptist Church where they continued to actively serve. They have been host to multiple missionaries and pastors. Their home has always been open to anyone in need. Margaret led many people to the Lord over the years and many lives were changed by her bold testimony. Also since their retirement Margaret and Mike have enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret worked for thirteen years at First National Bank of Madisonville. She also worked for Dr. Heaton 10 years and did bookkeeping for PM Standley for four years. Often times she worked two to three jobs to take care of her three children. In her own words “In 1977 the job I liked best was the year Mike and I were married and I got to stay home with my children. The best job I ever had.”
She is survived by her sister Lynell Wooderson of Jackson, TX, Sister-in-law Anita McCollum of Brownsville, TX, children Ronnie Standley and his wife Linda of Canton, TX, Lori Patterson and her husband Steven of Houston, TX, Michael Beckham and his wife Kim of Tomball, TX, Carmen Dotson and her husband David of Conroe, TX, Carla Foote and her husband Rick of Cameron, TX, Cara Todd and her husband Dan of Conroe, TX.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandie Standley of Hallsville, TX, Nicholas Standley and his wife Georgina of Madisonville, TX, Garrett Patterson and his wife Kim of Humble, TX, Madeline Bowman and her husband Christian of San Antonio, TX, Geoff Beckham of Tomball, TX, Zachary Beckham of Newport News, VA, Ashley Hopper and her husband Cody of Abilene, TX, Amber Hoffman and her husband Richard of Clyde, TX, Eric Foote and his wife Alicia of Austin, TX, Jacob Foote and his wife Jennifer of Mont Belvieu, TX, Nathan Foote and his wife Martha of Austin, TX, Courtney Tennikoff and her husband Ben of Sydney, AU, Blake Simon and his wife Krista of Sugarland, TX, Joshua Gotcher and his wife Ashley of Conroe, TX.
She is survived by her great grandchildren Bree Black, Emma Black, Graham Black, Paige Patterson, Sarah Hopper, RJ Hoffman, Zachary Hoffman, Elizabeth Hoffman, Abby Hoffman, Emmie Foote, Eva Lopez, Jess Lopez, & Carli Foote.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Standley, Steven Patterson, Garrett Patterson, Nick Standley, Graham Black, Geoff Beckham, Rick Foote, & Christian Bowman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Zachary Beckham, Eric Foote, Jacob Foote, Blake Simon, Joshua Gotcher, Cody Hopper, Richard Hoffman, & Boyd Holbrook.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 1002 S. Madison St, Madisonville, TX 77864, November 4, 2020 at 11:00 am with a graveside service following at Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at Madisonville Funeral Home 1511 E. Main St, Madisonville, TX 77864 on Tuesday November 3, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
The family would like to express our most heartfelt appreciation for Deborah Brown and her family. Thank you for the loving care you provided to our wife, mother and “Mama”. We will forever be grateful!
