Marie Dorman

A funeral service honoring the life of Marie Dorman, age 93, of Midway, Texas will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Glenn Connor and Bro. Dean Ferguson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Rock Prairie Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Marie Dorman was born February 1, 1930 in North Zulch, Texas. Her parents were George & Pearl (Akins) Dyer. Marie was raised in Madison County and later moved to the Houston area where she and her late husband, Edward, raised their family. While in Houston, Marie worked and retired from the accounting department at K-Mart. She and Edward moved back to Madison County around 1992 where they enjoyed their retired years.

Marie attended Elwood Baptist Church in Midway and enjoyed gardening in her beautiful flower beds. She met her Lord and Savior May 16, 2023.

Those preceding Marie in death are both of her parents; husband, Edward Dorman; son, Larry Dorman; brother, Ross Dyer and sister, Delois Dyer Davis.

Surviving family members include children, Phyllis Nevill (Glenn), Jerry Dorman (Vivian), Debra Towle, Glenda Richardson (Vernon) and Randal Dorman (Julie); sister, Helen Ketchum; ten grandchildren, Shada Oblak, Shelly Barrios, Lisa Curry, Kim Farris, Kylie Dorman, Eric Dorman, Brian Dorman, Rebecca Martinez, Jeff Dorman and Nick Dorman; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Marie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
