Marilyn Simpson Connor, 75, passed away in Bryan, Texas, on November 3, 2020. Marilyn was born to Murl and Odell Simpson on April 24, 1945, and was raised in Dickinson, Texas. She married the love of her life, Glenn, on August 28, 1965, and together they shared a happy marriage for 55 years.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who began raising her family in Bryan, Texas and later moved to North Zulch and Normangee, Texas. She began her lifetime career of teaching with Bryan ISD and ended her greater than 30-year teaching experience with North Zulch ISD. She taught in a variety of fields such as art, curriculum coordinator of career awareness, and elementary education. Marilyn was known for her smile, laughter, being kind to everyone, and simply being able to light up a room with her sparkling personality. She never met a stranger and would always make anyone feel loved when she was around. She had a special way of sending cards with messages of inspiration and encouragement when someone needed to be uplifted. Marilyn proudly served as pianist at several churches where Glenn pastored and together they have been a dynamic team sharing their love of Christ to so many. She loved her church family at Elwood Baptist Church and enjoyed her fellowship time with them. Family was important for Marilyn. She was the one that could be depended on to fix, organize, cook, run errands for, and spoil her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved with the biggest heart and was the epitome of Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Marian Pearce, and granddaughter, Katelyn Connor. She is survived by husband, Glenn M.
