Praise the Lord for the life of Martha Lynn (Burton) Bigley who, born on February 5, 1946, to parents Charles and Marion (Robinson) Burton, was blessed immensely with 78 years before making her segue into eternity on December 22, 2024.
Martha was a joy to be around and lived a life filled with passionate service to those around her. She worked as a registered nurse for twenty years and looked after those in her care with gentleness and authentic compassion. Martha loved to sew and was very good at it. She was blessed with an artistic mind that spilled over in creativity and craftiness. She appreciated things of beauty and had a knack for finding it where others may struggle. One of those places was the Scriptures, which she studied with great vigor and eagerness as she diligently mined the depths of the Bible in search for God’s truth.
Martha was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Charlotte.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are many. She is survived by her two sons, Ronald and Andrew Bigley (Elizabeth); two daughters, Karen Mitchell and Sharon Kennedy; her brother, Timothy Burton; her sister, Mary Sewell; twenty-one grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
A graveside service, officiated by Glen Connor, is scheduled for 10 A.M. Monday, December 30, 2024, and will be held in the Allphin Cemetery.
Final arrangements for Martha Lynn Bigley are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
