Melvin Frank Haws, Jr.

Funeral services for Melvin Haws, age 68, of Midway, Texas, will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch, Texas. Pastor of the church, Randall Smith, will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Cotton Gin Cemetery near Teague, Texas in Freestone County. A brief visitation will take place the day of the service at the church from 9 A.M. until service time.

Melvin Frank Haws, Jr. was born on February 19, 1949 in Humble, Texas to Melvin Frank, Sr. & Helen (Terrell) Haws. He grew up in Humble and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Melvin worked as machinist for Lyondell/Equistar Chemical in Pasadena, Texas. Following his retirement, he moved to Midway where he enjoyed working on his land repairing and remodeling things. Additionally, Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and keeping his cows and horses. Melvin passed away on December 10, 2017 in Bryan, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Surviving family includes son, Trey Haws (Jamie) of Midway; brother, Keith Haws of Riverside; sister, Lisa Boggs of Humble and grandchildren, Courtnee & C.J. Wallace.
