Myrtle Lois Post, 86, entered into her heavenly rest on September 12, 2024, at her home in Madisonville, Texas. She was born on May 14, 1938, in Bedias, Texas to Clarence and Mattie (Willason) Montgomery.
Knowing Myrtle was a blessing as she always displayed great kindness and authentic care for those around her. She had a sweet spirit that was balanced with a strong work ethic, setting a great example for others. Myrtle was a strong woman who had the necessary abilities to make things happen. She will be fondly remembered as a good cook whose recipes were a benefit to many who sat at her table. If there was a bluegrass festival within reach, be assured, she was in attendance. Towards the end of her life, Myrtle developed an affinity for the gameshow network and became quite the formative living room contestant.
Myrtle was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Tom Post; two sisters, Dorothy Hogan and Deloris Ann Montgomery; three brothers, Henry, Sammy and Floyd Montgomery and grandson, Shawn Post.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Darrell Post (Stacy) of Nolanville, Texas, Ray Post (Pam) of Severance, Colorado and Larry Post (Lillian) of Pleasanton, Texas; daughter, Lisa Vincent (J.T.) of Madisonville, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two more on the way; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
The family will schedule a private service to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Allumine Health and Hospice. You may go to the following website to donate, www.alluminehealth.com/donate.
