Myrtle Lou Wilson

Myrtle Lou McRee Wilson was born January 9, 1943, in Leon County, Texas, and peacefully entered into eternal rest in the arms of her savior on September 22, 2024, at Creekside MRC in Huntsville, Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of service to God, her family, and friends.

Nothing was more important to Myrtle than sharing her faith with others. She ministered to preschoolers and their families, taught adult Sunday School classes, visited home-bound church members, and brought peace and comfort to many through the Grief Share program. Myrtle will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. In spite of her battle with dementia, she continued to show God's love to others by welcoming new residents, loving them, and offering encouragement to all.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Wilson; parents, Julius Bertrum McRee, Jr. and Willie Louise Walker McRee; and sister, Bettie Ann McRee Spivey.

Those left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Link Ermis; son and daughter-in-law, Thad and Jessica Wilson; special friend, Bill Parten; grandchildren, Courtney Greener, Rebecca Saucedo, Madison Schenk, and T.C. Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Huntlee Schenk, Oaklynn Schenk, and Briggs Greener. Myrtle also dearly loved her extended family and lifelong friends.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the Creekside MRC staff that cared for her the past few years, as well as the Oasis Hospice team.

A funeral service for Myrtle Lou Wilson will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, September 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Marty Ballesteros will officiate the service.
