Funeral services honoring the life of Nancy May, 91, of North Zulch, Texas were held 2 P.M., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, North Zulch, Texas. Pastor of the church, Randall Smith, officiated the service, and interment followed in Willowhole Cemetery.
Nancy Jean May was born March 12, 1930 in Austin, Texas. She was raised and had lived most of her life in North Zulch where she served her community as President of the North Zulch Community Council, which later turned into the P.T.O., as well as a leader of 4-H. Nancy was also a leader of the local Rifle Team and took them to state eight years. Additionally, she was chosen as a distinguished alumni for North Zulch ISD. Nancy was also instrumental in assisting with the eradication of fire ants in Madison County. She enjoyed working with ceramics and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Nancy passed away January 20, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; Elbert & Veta (Fullbright) Blagrave; husband, Jack L. May; grandson, Justin Henry May and daughter-in-law, Brenda May. Surviving family includes son, Jack Aaron May of North Zulch; daughters, Lavonda (Bill) Panzer of Pasadena, Julie (Billy) Simmons of North Zulch and Lucinda Cindy (Greg) McDaniel of North Zulch; granddaughters, Andren (Robert) Johnson, Thena Simmons (Matt) Morris, Patty (Kevin) Ussery and Larinda Messick; grandsons, Joshua (Lizzi) Jordan and Billy (Jolene) Panzer; great-grandchildren, Finley Jordan; Anna, Emma & Bella Johnson; Mason & Madison Morris; Kathy & Nick Ussery and Spencer Messick and numerous nieces & nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
