Pamela Sue Rice

Pamela Sue (Wallin) Rice, aged 71, passed away on November 12, 2024, at Hermann Memorial Southwest Hospital. Born on June 8, 1953, Pamela was a testament to resilience and perseverance, overcoming life’s challenges with grace and determination.

Pamela found immense joy in cooking, often delighting her loved ones with her culinary creations. Her home was filled with warmth, love, and the presence of her cherished cats—Jr., Onion, Fatty, and Shitty—each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A much-loved employee of The British Rose Pub in Dallas, Pamela formed lasting friendships with colleagues and patrons during her time there. Her dedication and vibrant personality earned her the title of "Waitress of the Year," a testament to her exceptional work ethic and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Sue Wallin and John Thomas "JT" Wallin, and her sister Peggy Mitchell.

Pamela was the beloved mother of four children: Stefani Downey-Martinez of California, Gretchen Hill of Texas, Justin Taylor of Texas, and Grady Taylor of Texas. She was the proud grandmother of Christian Martinez (California), Brandon Martinez (Texas), Robert Martinez Jr. (California), Rayvyn Martinez (California), Noah Martinez (California), Saige Martinez (California), and Serafina Hill (Texas). Pamela was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Lily Martinez, Rufio Martinez, Rayvyn Martinez Jr., Richie Martinez, Ryat Martinez, Realm Martinez, and Dominic Martinez.

Pamela is also survived by her siblings: Jimmy Wallin (wife Virginia) of Madisonville, Tommy Wallin (wife Deborah) of Madisonville, and Michael Wallin of Madisonville. She is also lovingly remembered by her half-siblings: Cynthia Andrus of Madisonville, Johnny Wallin (wife Debbie) of Hempstead, and the late Brenda Oswald and Nancy Williams.

A funeral service for Pamela will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 1 P.M. in the chapel at the Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Burial will follow immediately in the Porter Springs Cemetery. A time of visitation will take place the evening before on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Michael Wallin, Brandon Martinez, Tommy Wallin, Jimmy Wallin, Daniel Peterson, and Warren Robinson. Johnny Wallin will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
