Patricia Ann (Murphrey) Bleeker made her blessed appearance into the world on August 20, 1940, in Houston, Texas, to proud parents, Lloyd and Bonnie Fay (Dover) Murphrey. She was divinely escorted into eternity on November 19, 2024, where she now resides with the Lord Jesus Christ.
There are so many endearing ways to describe Pat and even the best attempts fall short of the wonderful lady she was. She was a servant with a true gift for hospitality. Cooking was something she enjoyed, and her recipes left an indelible mark on those who sat around her table or attended the church fellowships. Her baked goods were stellar, and many asked repeatedly for the formula behind her “Gum Drop” cookies. The love she made them with was the key ingredient that really set them apart.
Pat was musically inclined, and this was clearly evident when she played the piano, something she desired to do at home and at her church. Over the years, she sang in choirs and blessed many with her God-given talents. From an early age, Pat developed a passion for teaching others about Christ. She was saved as a young girl and began teaching children as a teenager. This stayed with her throughout her life and numerous children were touched in genuine and authentic ways by her ministry in Sunday School or VBS.
Pat will be fondly remembered as a woman who was divinely equipped with a balanced disposition. She was loving, caring and possessed a very kind demeanor but had no problem expressing what was on her mind. She was an instrument of God’s righteousness and was used by Him to reach into the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Pat is preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister, Gerri Rye.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of more than sixty-six years, Bobby Bleeker; sons, Gary Bleeker (Lisa) of Rockdale and Ronnie Bleeker (Nancy) of Georgetown; daughter, Terry Raley (Greg) of Valley Mills; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
A funeral service for Pat, officiated by Bro. Glenn Connor, will be held in the chapel at the Madisonville Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2 P.M. followed by burial in the Allphin Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour before beginning at 1 P.M.
The pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris, Michael, Travis, Justin, Kyle, Wade and Koye Bleeker.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Christian, Chase, Becket and Hunter Bleeker.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Patricia’s name to the Son-Shine Outreach Center or a charity of choice. Memorial donations may be made online, Son-Shine Outreach Center, or mailed to Son-Shine Outreach Center, 1680 TX-75, Madisonville, Texas 77864
