Beautiful baby girl, Phyllis McDonald, was born June 5, 1969, to Virstell McDonald and Pennie Mae Jackson. The youngest of four children, she joined Harvest Tabernacle Bible Church at an early age in Los Angeles, California. In her later years, she began attending Antioch Church of Christ in Midway, Texas. She obtained her education from Thomas Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, California and LA Southwest Junior College. After graduating, Phyllis became a social worker at the LA County building, as well as in Centerville and Beaumont, Texas
Phyllis passed away March 26, 2025 at her home in Madisonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virstell McDonald and Pennie Mae Jackson; and siblings, Wanda Fae Strange and Willie Morris Nixon.
She leaves to cherish her memory; brother, Herman Nixon; sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Sims; special niece, Al'lenae Fransisco; special nephew, Keymont Hood; aunt, Odessa "Jane" Jackson; special cousin, Linda Kendrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A homegoing service honoring Phyllis' life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. She will be laid to rest in Southside Cemetery, Midway, Texas. Howard Watson Sr. will officiate the service.
Pallbearers: DC Nealey, Bobby Nealey, Lamar Nealey, David Nealey, Trent Curtis, Chris Harris
Honorary Pallbearers: Keymont Hood, Herman Nixon, Michael Nealy, Thomas Walker, Herman Nixon Jr., Ocie Goffney, Christopher Sandles, Al'lenae Fransisco.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
