Paco Soliz, 92, of Normangee, passed away surrounded by his devoted family January 10, 2022 in College Station, Texas. He was born Plutarco Ramirez Soliz, September 3, 1929 in Benavides, Texas to Eduardo Soliz & Eva Ramirez; one of ten children.
Paco worked in the Houston area as the owner and operator of a landscaping business. He and his wife had lived in Normangee since 1995 where Paco enjoyed ranching and taking care of his chickens and cattle. He relished in the slow pace of country life and the opportunities it offered, such as setting traps and hunting hogs, deer hunting and gardening. Paco enjoyed his bountiful garden, especially the watermelons grown, and sharing his bounty with friends and neighbors. He was most happy when he was with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Paco was preceded in death by both of his parents; three brothers; one sister and step-son, Oscar J. Garcia. Surviving family members include loving wife, Delia Soliz of Normangee; daughter, Elma Stine (David) of Bryan; step-daughter, Leticia Saenz (David) of Houston; step-son, Dino Garcia (Connie) of Houston; siblings, Amador Soliz, Evangelina De Los Santos (Claudio), Irma Sanchez, Lesvia Sellers and Lucy Lopez; grandchildren, Amanda Thompson Chavez (Razino), Brooks Thompson (Ashley), Melissa Countryman (Jason), Monica Medellin (Frank), Alfredo Zavala, Jr. (Sara) and Roman Trevino, Jr.; sixteen great-grandchildren and special friend, Jorge Garcia (Marcy), as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
