Robert George Fletcher Jr., 95, made his earthly entrance on November 26, 1929, in Houston, Texas. He was born to proud parents Robert George and Minnie Margaret (Harrison) Fletcher and lived a life shaped by an active relationship with Jesus Christ up until his long-awaited home going on March 26, 2025.
The greatest significance of Robert Fletcher’s life was the observable presence of God who, through a relationship with Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, moved about in Robert and grew him into a blessing that many others regularly benefitted from. His life was characterized by service and sacrifice. Evidence of this was clearly discerned from his faithful commitment to his wife, who he loved and adored for seventy-four years. In addition, Robert invested in the lives of his three sons as a wonderful father and mentor. Robert served as a deacon at his church and will be fondly remembered as an outstanding, dedicated employee in the field of aviation as a flight crew member and aviation maintenance technician. In fact, Robert's love for aviation inspired his wife and three sons to successfully pursue their pilot's license.
In his retirement, Robert’s interest in aviation never waned as he served as a member of the aviation community at Hilltop Lakes where he became known as the “go-to guy” when an airplane maintenance problem developed. He made friends easily as he continued to serve his community. Robert’s life was one of priority which flowed from a hierarchy consisting of God first, family second, followed by his church and community. Robert was an instrument of the Lord’s righteousness and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Robert is preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Jeannine (Posey) Fletcher; sister, Janet; son, Robert Michael Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Vanita Fletcher and granddaughter, Melissa Dawn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Donald Fletcher and Craig Fletcher (Missi); grandchildren, Marsha Shields (Joel), Melissa Koehne, Paul Fletcher (Teri), Ben Fletcher (Amy), Abby Martin (Chad), Stephanie Fletcher, Lynn Drews (Mike), Tim Fletcher (Mercedes), Lauren Morris (Kenneth), and Leslie Little (Chad); great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ana Beth, Carson, Bailee, Noah, Emma, Lillian, Owen, Erin, Emory, Eden, Bear, Axel, Jerrod, Beau, Anna, James, Daniel, Joshua, Annie Lee, and Augustus; one great-great-grandchild, Paisley Shields; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
