Robert Michael Fletcher, age 73, made his glorious entrance to the world on January 13, 1951, in Houston, Texas, and was ushered into eternity on October 12, 2024. He was born to Robert George and Vera Jeannine (Posey) Fletcher.
Mike will be fondly remembered as a good man who was well accomplished and served those around him out of great sincerity. It all started when he graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he played football and developed a passion for developing others. This was reflected in his successful endeavors as both a high school educator and football coach. Mike continued his growth and pursued a career in computer technology and engineering. He had a tenured career in the field lasting forty-five years before he retired. After retirement, Mike continued to teach school and managed the computer networks at Covenant Christian School in Conroe, Texas.
Mike was a man who dearly loved and adored his family. He was faithfully married to his wife, Cynthia, for forty-two years and enjoyed immensely every moment he had with his kids and grandkids. His grandkids held a special place in his heart, and this was evident every time they walked in the room as Mike’s face lit up with excitement. Mike was passionate about reading and discussing theology. It is comforting to know that his eternity is secure as his relationship with Jesus Christ remained his high priority far above most anything else, including conservative politics.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannine Fletcher and his daughter, Melissa Dawn Fletcher.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Fletcher; father, Robert Fletcher; brothers, Donald Fletcher (Vanita) and Craig Fletcher (Missi); daughters, Marsha Shields (Joel), Melissa Johnson and Abby Martin (Chad); sons, Paul Fletcher (Teri) and Timothy Fletcher (Mercedes); grandchildren, Caleb Shields, Bailee Fletcher, Ana Beth Shields, Emery Martin, Noah Fletcher, Eden Martin, Carson Koehne, Emma Fletcher, Lillian Fletcher, Bear Martin, Axel Martin, Jarrod Fletcher and Bo Fletcher; great-granddaughter, Paisley Shields; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.

A celebration of life will be held on November 2, 2024, for all family and friends with more details forthcoming.
