Shirley Anne Brooker McKamie, age 83, departed her earthly home for a heavenly dwelling September 3, 2022 in College Station, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born March 8, 1939 in McKamie, Arkansas to Daniel Jones and Edna A. (Markham) Wood. She had lived fifty-six years in North Zulch, Texas and was Methodist in faith. Shirley loved to spend time with family, especially her grandkids and friends. She also liked to fish, help with charity benefits, garden, play shuffleboard and cards and absolutely adored her dog. Shirley was the backbone of her family and would always go out of her way to demonstrate her deep love and devotion to them. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Bill Brooker; grandson, Christopher Kroeger and brothers, Dalmon, Billy, Daniel and Charles Mac Wood.
Surviving family members include sons, Joe Brooker of Hilltop Lakes and Daniel Lee Brooker (Nancy) of the Mecca Community; daughters, Patricia Jaenicke (Jessie) of Madisonville, Teresa Hicks (Doug Martin) of Crosby, Cindy Lawson (Mike Vaught) of North Zulch and Pam Kroeger (Kelvin) of Thorndale; grandchildren, Candi, Jessica, Mandy, Stacey, Sheri, Justin, Kelvin, Carl, Haley, Charla, John, Jake and Danielle and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services honoring Shirley’s life will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas officiated by Bro. Glenn Connor, Bro. Wade Phillips and Bro. Dale Evans. A brief time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to service time at the church.
