Shirley Faye Mcvey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Faye (Goines) McVey, a loving wife, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend and hardworking nurse on October 27, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Shirley was born on April 11, 1935 in Willis, Texas to Oscar Lee and Lonnie (Ferguson) Goines. She was married to Curtis Ray McVey on August 18, 1951. They were happily married for 52 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, five sisters and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister, Madie Alston; three sons, Curtis Roland McVey (Susan), Billy Don McVey (Holly) and Paul Douglas McVey (Rebekah); six grandchildren, Curtis Clay McVey (Danielle), Leslie McAdams (Willie), Donyelle McVey (Javier), Curtis Michael McVey, Owyn Williamson and Sabrina Angelo; four great-grandchildren, Deontae Alexander McAdams (Shay), Gabby Carrillo (Malenie), Ryan McVey (Samantha), and Cheyanne McVey; four great-great-grandchildren, Deontae La'James McAdams, Jaxon McVey, Sophia Gonzalez, and Thailand Overton; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, which are all so special.

The McVey Family would like thank Traditions Health Hospice team for their wonderful care during this time.

A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Mount Tabor Cemetery, Madisonville, Texas. Kem McVey will officiate the service. A public visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until service time at the cemetery.
