Sylvia Marie Swinner, age 87, of Madisonville, Texas passed peacefully into the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior the evening of January 12, 2021. She was born August 14, 1933 in Galveston, Texas to father, Valentino Dushman and mother, Margaret (Pinachio) Dushman.
Sylvia was a devoted homemaker and housewife her entire life. She loved teaching her children and once remarked that the greatest lesson she taught them was to LOVE. Sylvia also enjoyed cooking and dancing. She had been a resident of Madison County for the past thirty years and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville.
Sylvia was preceded in death by husband, Willis F. Swinner; sisters, Margaret Lively and Agnes Willis; brother, Robert Dushman and granddaughter, Jennifer Hailey. She is survived by daughters, Nancy (Lee) Hailey of Normangee, Carol (David) Becker of Normangee and Debbie (Bo) Nelson of Normangee; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild
A rosary will be recited at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 16, 2021 followed by a funeral mass at 2 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville. Fr. Guilermo Gabriel-Maisonet will officiate the service. Burial will follow in High Prairie Cemetery in rural Madison County.
