Timothy Ray Whitmore

A celebration of life service for Timothy Ray Whitmore, age 67, will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Interment will be in the Culton Cemetery in Leona, Texas.

Timothy Ray Whitmore was the son of Timothy Whitmore and the late Evelena Mayes Jones. He was better known as “Bozo” to his family and friends. He was born in Wellington, Texas. He later moved to Normangee, Texas.

He graduated from Normangee High School in 1969. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1971 and was honorably discharged. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Marksman Badge. He returned to Normangee, Texas where he resided until 2014.

From April 29, 2016 to March 16, 2018, Timothy lived in the Doris Miller Hospice Department of the Waco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he lost the battle with lung cancer. Timothy was preceded in death by his mother, Evelena Mayes Jones; his step-father, Sam Jones, Jr.; grandmother, Minnie Bell Drewey; step-grandfather, Harvey Drewey; grandfather, Jack Coleman; aunts, Pauletta Fanner and Janie Pearl Payton and uncles, George, Richard, Bennie, James, Jr., Michael; and brother Billy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: siblings, Helen (Gene), Beverly, L.D., Jr., “Chuck” (Anita), Brenda, Quentin, Betty, Cleothra (Loretta), Yolanda and Eddie, Sr. (Carolyn); aunts, Inez, Wytena, Jackie, Deborah (Charlie) and Valerie; uncles, Troy, Reginald, Alfonso and Alfransha and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas is entrusted with arrangements.
