Virginia Elean Miller was born January 23, 1938, in Silsbee, Texas to R.V. & Alzie Elean (Barker) Swearingen. Although she had worked outside the home as a bookkeeper, salesperson and dental assistant, as well as other jobs, her most important job titles were wife and mother. Virginia liked working in her flower gardens, reading, traveling and visiting with friends and family. She loved to talk and enjoyed sharing stories of her life or various happenings of the day. Virginia had lived in rural North Zulch for thirty years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.
She passed away January 26, 2018, in College Station, Texas at the age of eighty years. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Joe Miller and sons, Gary Rayburn & Larry Rayburn.
Surviving family members include daughter-in-law Gail Skinner of College Station; step-sons, Dan (Karen) Miller of Burnet and Randy (Susie) Miller of North Zulch; step-daughter, Karen (Christian) Kallen of Healdsburg, CA; brother, Tom Swearingen of Brady and grandchildren, Emily & Sam Rayburn, Gregory (Brandy) Miller, Justin, Travis & Danielle Miller, Gabriel Bridges, Joshua Bridges, Crystal Holbrook, Larkin (Jeaniece) Light, Luke (Lauren) Light and Kayli Rogers.
Memorial services for Virginia will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, Texas.
Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
