Walter Ray Tisdale passed away March 1, 2022 at his home in Leona, Texas with his loving family by his side. He was born April 3, 1933 in Leona, Texas to Walter Leo & Johnnie Rhae (House) Tisdale.
Walter was raised in Leona and worked for Cameron Iron Works as an accountant prior to his retirement. Although his work led him to live in the Houston area for a number of years, Walter eventually settled back home in Leona and had resided there for the past twenty-six years. He loved his acreage and beautiful land, as well as seeing the deer visit his home every morning. Walter enjoyed photography and traveling to Yellowstone Park, the Rocky Mountains, Canada and all of the other National Parks. He also enjoyed his ministry with the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Madisonville, Texas.
Walter was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Charles Arthur Tisdale and his wife, May Pearl. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Tisdale of Leona; sons, Walter Allen (Sonja) Tisdale of Houston and Charles Ray (Paula) Tisdale of New Caney; daughter, Brenda Lee Little of Garland; sister, Frances Frenzel of Madisonville; grandchildren, Natasha, Jennifer and Coleen and great-grandchildren, Zuri and Everly.
Arrangements were under the care of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
